Family Support

The SDA offers a number of different information packs, discounts and advice regarding family support.

Parental Leave

Are you pregnant, have recently given birth or considering adopting a child under 16 years of age? If so, you may be eligible for the Government Paid Parental Leave payment.
The SDA has fought hard over the years to get Paid Parental leave for our members. This booklet  contains information on the Government’s Paid Parental Leave scheme as well as the Dad and Partner Pay (including adopting parents and same-sex couples) which are available from Centrelink.

Centrelink

There are a number of Government payments that families may be entitled to. Payments such as:

  • Family Tax Benefit Part A,
  • Family Tax Benefit Part B,
  • School Kids Bonus,
  • Childcare Rebate,
  • Age Pension,
  • Disability Support Pension,
  • Sickness allowance,
  • Carer allowance,
