Where To Go For Help
The SDA is available to members for
Confidential consultations, and any advice or help our members might need.
If there is a problem or a company is not meeting its obligations, our
trained staff will see that you are given your rights to equal employment
opportunity. But remember - we're unable to help you unless you let us
know that there's a problem.
If a member has been the victim
of sexual harassment or sex discrimination, the SDA can help them make the
right inquiries and support them if they want to take their case to the Equal
Opportunity Commission.
Your secretary Barbara Nebart
says:
"The SDA acknowledges
that it is every worker's right to have equal opportunity in all spheres
of employment, particularly in relation to promotional advancement.
"Equal opportunity policies
backed up by programs which promote, develop and maintain non-discriminatory
employment and promotion practices are necessary to ensure genuine employer
commitment.
"The SDA has already
achieved much in this area and will continue to work towards equal employment
opportunity for all of its members."
